11375011: Taina I have Taino ancestry in my mother’s mtDNA direct line… this means that at the time of Columbus and thousands of years before my maternal ancestors were Native to Puerto Rico and the rest of the what we know as America. There was NO European influence… not until after 1493 where the Spaniards took for themselves the Taino women as slaves or wives. Today many of us Hispanics have Taino in our blood but a very small amount. Whatever % I have in me, I am proud of my heritage and I honor my ancestors who have gone before me and suffered incredible hardship and tragedy.  Zoom
